While never considering herself a serious athlete, Rachel’s love for physical activity developed at an early age as her way of keeping up with four older brothers. At the age of 5, Rachel began taking dance lessons but by the age of 8 had turned her full attention to the world of horseback riding. For 10+ years she showed Competitively in numerous disciplines, while simultaneously participating on every sports team she could in school. Her summers were spent either training and showing horses or enjoying water sports behind the boat at her family’s cabin.
In high school she joined Hybrid Athletics and began taking Crossfit classes with her friends. After graduation and being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, Rachel began pouring all her spare time into researching everything she could regarding fitness and nutrition and completed both her ACE and BCRPA personal training
certifications, as well as a certificate in Sports Nutrition.
After building her experience and clientele at corporate gyms, Rachel returned to Hybrid Athletics to continue personal training. She also quickly acquired her Crossfit Level 1. She now teaches both Crossfit and Bootcamp classes at Hybrid along with her growing list of PT Clients, while continuing to train regularly herself.
Rachel’s enthusiasm and passion for an active, healthy lifestyle pours into both members and clients, with whom she is thrilled to share her knowledge and experience regarding all things nutrition and fitness. If she’s not at Hybrid, you can usually find Rachel exploring BC’s beautiful landscape or sharing a barbeque with friends and family!
