Nate was born in White Rock B.C. but grew up in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. During his youth, he played nearly every varsity sport at G.P.Vanier high school as well as in many community recreation leagues, but it was in Football that Nate excelled the most. He captained the Comox Valley Raiders to back-to-back Provincial championship seasons in 1998 and 1999 and was named to the Provincial All-Star team. After high school, Nate attended UBC where he completed his Human Kinetics degree. Nate was a Captain for the Varsity Football squad at UBC where he was awarded both Athletic and Academic All-Canadian status. He also received the prestigious Russ Jackson Award as the “CIS Football Player Best Exemplifying Athletic Ability, Scholarship and Citizenship”, as well as the Bobby Gaul award as UBC’s Top Male Athlete. Nate parlayed his Football success in university into a Free-Agent contract with the BC Lions. He attended training camp for the 2005 year and played for the Leos through the pre-season before focusing on his rapidly progressing Health & Fitness career.

Nate started personal training in 2002 during his years at UBC. After working for EliteKinesiologists.ca for several years during his undergrad, Nate was head-hunted by several training companies and ultimately chose to join a reputable team of Health & Fitness professionals in North Vancouver. Nate worked his way up in the industry, serving as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for UBC Football from 2004-06, assisting with the Canadian National Snowboard Team (including Olympic Medalists Maelle Ricker, Mike Robertson and Jaysee-Jay Anderson), and working with many local, provincial, national and professional level athletes.

In 2008, Nate was offered the position of Strength & Conditioning Director at Vancouver College but chose to start his company: Pinnacle Sport Performance. Nate was sub-contracted by his previous employer to run their newest operations at the North Shore Winter Club. He became the General Manager and Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for all the NSWC Teams and Programs from 2008 – 2011. Nate decided to broaden his scope of operations and design and develop his facility here in Langley: Hybrid Athletics. Through his work with many athletes of all ages and levels, Nate gained tremendous experience that he is eager to share with the residents of the Fraser Valley.

Nate brings positive energy and a commitment to excellence to HYBRID Athletics Inc. and hopes to assist his clients in creating positive, sustainable, healthy lifestyles.
