What is Crossfit?

CrossFit is promoted as both a physical exercise philosophy and also as a competitive fitness sport. CrossFit workouts incorporate elements from high-intensity interval training, Olympic weightlifting, plyometrics, powerlifting, gymnastics, girevoy sport, calisthenics, strongman, and other exercises. It is practiced by individuals all over the world who complete daily workouts (otherwise known as a "WODs" or "workouts of the day").

In our on-going effort to offer the best services to the greatest variety of people here at Hybrid Athletics, we are expanding our Bootcamp classes.  The new Schedule will be effective immediately and will look like this:

This means we will now offer 21 class time slots classified as “BOOTCAMP”.  This spans over 6 days per week, with each weekday having at least 1 morning and 1 evening option. Now there is no excuse to ever miss a workout!

What does this mean for our existing CrossFit members?  Not too much is different.  There are still 39 class time slots for you to choose from per week (and all kinds of OPEN GYM if you have a Level 2 Membership)

  • The programming for “Cardio Thursday” will remain the same as it has always been.
  • The programming for “Bootcamp Tuesdays” will remain the same as it has been over the month of September.  You might have noticed that we don’t use many barbells on Tuesdays, and we hit several WODs, often with short rest.  This will remain the same.
  • The programming for the Daily 5:45 am,  9:30am and 7pm classes will be modified, much like it has been on Tuesdays for the past year, but you will have the option to follow the CrossFit Flow, or the Bootcamp Flow.  Both will be very similar to allow 1 coach to lead it all, but the Bootcamp Flow will not include movements that require you to have completed the On-Ramp program.  This “option” is only available at the 9:30am and 7pm classes.  The rest of the day M/W/F is simply CrossFit.
  • If attendance at any particular class grows to a certain extent, we will add a second coach to that hour and have them coach the groups somewhat separately (but allow for overlap when programming is similar so as not to segregate the two groups)
